A sense of deja vu

I missed this year's Football world cup final. I later caught the highlights to see Germany steal it from Argentina. What will remain in my memory forever though, is the presentation ceremony. A young man, short in stature, carrying the hopes of his country on his own shoulders, stood defeated, while he was being honored as the best player of the tournament. His critics were already getting ready for the attack. His face carried a familiar pain, because his genius was not enough to conquer a much better team. And I was left wondering where else I had seen that!
